Kanwal Mirza, MD
Dr. Mirza is a licensed child & adolescent psychiatrist who completed her child & adolescent psychiatry training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and her general psychiatry residency at Tulane University in New Orleans. Originally from Texas, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas and completed her medical training at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies.
She takes a developmental approach to treating mood, cognitive and behavioral disorders in patients of all ages. Given her well-rounded experience she provides medication management alongside psycho-education. Her goal is to establish long-lasting relationships with her patients and help optimize their journey in mental health.
She specializes in mental health issues arising in childhood or adolescence. Her main areas of focus include ADHD, Autism, behavioral disorders, impulse control disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, bipolar disorders, psychotic disorders, adjustment disorders, development disorders. Trauma and stressor related disorders and personality disorders.
